7. Kurt Takes Some Flack

Given some grief over this particular sight for looking a bit like an over-eager stepdad that's finally gained approval from the kids, Kurt Angle quashed worries that he didn't belong in the chaotic Tables, Ladders and Chairs main event by smashing the ever-loving sh*t out of Sheamus, Cesaro and The Miz when he heroically bounced back from a Braun Strowman beatdown.

It was a rainy pre-pay-per-view Friday when WWE made the blockbuster announcement that Roman Reigns would miss The Shield's grand return to the ring with a mysterious viral infection that had also neutered Bray Wyatt. The latter's late exit resulted in a spectacular Finn Bálor/AJ Styles encounter, but how would The Olympic Hero fare taking the place of 'The Big Dog' with just a few days notice?

As it turned out, just fine. And few cared anyway.

Donning his riot gear, any physical difference between the Kurt of today and yesteryear were tucked beneath the flack jacket. Any early wobbles were assuaged by a brawl with the ever-reliable Kane. And any final doubts went crashing through the same table as the 'Swiss Superman' in the brawl's enthralling final moments.
