10 Important Decisions AEW Have To Make

2. Worker's Rights

So far, AEW has been doing a phenomenal job of approaching this. Brandi Rhodes just recently stated that workers "won't be driving themselves on the road" and "putting injured bodies in the ring". These are great starting points, but the expectations set are at a much higher standard.

Cody has been vocal about providing health care to the workers, but this has been largely just talk to this point. He has stated, "There are several wrestlers outside the EVP element that are going to receive benefits and health care. That's a first for wrestling, and these are slow and steady steps and I'm super proud." The key words there may be slow and steady.

This isn't something that can really be practical at the opening of the company's doors, but they need to get this right eventually. They have made this such a part of their company's vision and press that they can't afford to not make good on their promises. With Alberto El Patron (formerly Del Rio in WWE) stating his new company Nacion Lucha Libre promising health insurance to his wrestlers, wrestler's rights seems to be a driving force in the resurgence of the independent wrestling scene. If AEW can do this it will be a huge win for not only the company, but also their brand. They can't afford a heel turn this early.
