10 Important Steps In Kane's WWE Evolution

5. The Katie Vick Saga

Ask many longtime WWE fans what the worst storylines in company history are, and it's likely that the name 'Katie Vick' will come up. In 2002, the promotion changed Kane's origin story around more than a little, and the entire ordeal left a bad taste in everyone's mouths. Long story short, Triple H revealed that Kane's drink driving had killed a young woman years before. As if that wasn't bad enough, the creative staff penned one of the most asinine angles ever. Insinuating that Kane attempted sex with the corpse, Triple H was filmed mocking the idea in a fake funeral home. Wearing a trademark Kane mask, 'The Game' pretended to be his rival, and sexually assaulted a dummy fans were supposed to be believe was Vick. Nowadays, WWE would rather everybody forgot the idea ever came to fruition. This remains one of the darkest and most disturbing periods in Kane's company history. The whole thing directly conflicted what the promotion had told fans about Kane's past before, and did nothing for the ongoing Kane vs. Triple H feud.
