Following his rivalry with his brother, Kane became a force in the WWF title picture. He even became champion, if only for a 24-hour period in June of 98. During this time, Mr. McMahon took a bit of a liking to the Big Red Monster, because of his attempts to dethrone Steve Austin as champion. By December of 98, following a brief stint in an insane asylum, Kane officially joined the Corporation stable. As a part of the group, the Demon lost a little bit of his luster, becoming a silent enforcer for McMahons faction. Kane remained in his Corporate role for a number of months, but was eventually betrayed by the group and turned face.
