The current WWE Intercontinental Champion Luke Harper is the perfect example of a veteran performer that WWE signed and is thriving after going through WWE's developmental system. One year ago at this time we didn't know much about him. Now we know he's one of the most talented big guys in the company. When you think back to when Harper was part of the Wyatt Family with Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan, you might remember that WWE often put Harper in singles matches more often than they put Rowan in those matches. That's because he's better than Rowan. That's not to say that Rowan sucks, but if you need a great match then Harper is the better choice. It's not like Harper is some rookie. He has been wrestling since 2003 and is going to be 35 years old in a few weeks. He's still improved a lot because he was this unknown figure to a lot of people when the Wyatt Family first showed up. Now people can look forward to his matches because of the arsenal of moves he displays during his matches. The growth of the Harper character in 2014 has been wonderful to see. He's probably not going to become a main event singles heel, but he's somebody that deserves a spot in the upper midcard where he's at now. Harper's always had a lot of potential. It's cool to see him getting a chance to live up to that potential now.
