10 Improvements UFC Has To Make

3. Zero Tolerance For Racism And Unnecessary Comments

Speaking of zero tolerance, this one should be a given in this day and age. Yet, UFC seems to have found a way to drop the ball when handling such sensitive issues.

Racist and unnecessary outbursts are the problems in question and in any other sport - or profession for that matter - an employee would be handed their P45 or at least a substantial fine for such comments, yet in the UFC this language often goes unpunished.

Conor McGregor (the unofficial face of the company) gave off an aura of omnipotence, due to the fact that he was openly allowed to label Khabib Nurmagomedov a 'f*cking snitch terrorist rat' - targeting his opponent's religion and ethnicity in a pre-fight press conference.

In this period, Dana White didn't exactly cover himself in glory either, and just 'let Conor be Conor' - showcasing a cold business-centric mentality in not exposing his golden goose.

Also, why are fighters given hefty fines for unprofessional post-match brawls - found again in the Nurmagomedov/McGregor rivalry - but not for disgusting xenophobic slurs?

Slamming McGregor for his comments (or even pulling him from the fight altogether) would have been a powerful statement on behalf of the UFC, but that would have cost them too much money and this is a fighting 'business', after all.
