Ahead of another monster angle between the two for which the show will be remembered, Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman had another spectacular brawl that enhanced their argument for feud-of-the-year honours.

As they have done virtually every time they've faced, the two leathered one another with hard-hitting offence befitting of men their size and distanced them from the cookie cutter matches taking place elsewhere on the card.

Once again, the warped characterisations threatened to hurt the bout, with Braun's monstrous no-sells supported with Hogan-esque fervour from the crowd, and Reigns' occasional comebacks serviced with all the usual vitriol.

It threatened to become a problem in the biggest spot of the match, when 'The Big Dog' attempted to slay the giant once and for all with almighty shove through one of the LED screens. Reigns' incredulous look to the crowd as he fell to his knees in disbelief was supposed to draw sympathy and understanding for the man desperate to put his giant foe away. Instead, a 'This Is Awesome' chant quickly dissolved into boos for the former Shield member and a renewed vim to see the 'Monster Among Men' yet again rebound.

The finish was another moment of infuriating WWE parity, but left an intriguing takeaway from the show in general about the company's next move with the two men...
