10 Impulse Reactions Following WWE Money In The Bank 2017

It appeared that the history-making ladder contest was simply used as a storyline device, as later indignant tweets from Shane McMahon and a set-to-return Daniel Bryan implied there would be consequences for the actions of Carmella and James Ellsworth this week on SmackDown Live!

WWE had spent an awful lot of time promoting the history-making nature of the first ever women's Money In The Bank ladder match, and now have to cope with the realisation that they have given that victory to a man. However, it drew attention to a wider problem with the lazy and inconsistent storytelling the company so often employ when they just can't be a*sed to reverse themselves out of a booking cul-de-sac.

Bryan has effectively been on paternity leave since WrestleMania, but why was Shane not at the show? It's great tweeting out that something will be done about the injustice, but it only served to highlight that he wasn't present to witness history first-hand it.

It implies that the two authority figures are not all that bothered about the product, despite the apparently legendary moment they would have been set to create, and one that wouldn't have been ruined if they were there to do their job in the first place.
