2. Braun Strowman (WWE Universal Title)
Oh dear.
Braun Strowman was a replacement for Roman Reigns at the super-weird WrestleMania 36. There, he'd go on to beat Goldberg, win the Universal Title and proceed from that to one of the crummiest rivalries ever with ex-stablemate Bray Wyatt. Seriously, their matches at MITB and (a ‘Wyatt Swamp Fight’) at Extreme Rules sucked.
Sandwiched in between the Bray stuff was a puzzling handicap mini-feud opposite The Miz and John Morrison at Backlash. That included such hilarity as Kayla Braxton getting covered in gunge/green paint, and the heels smashing up Braun's rental car as he chased them around like Gargamel after The Smurfs.
Braun would go on to lose the belt to Wyatt at SummerSlam, then Roman began his peerless 'Tribal Chief' run one week later at Payback. Strowman's Universal Title run should be considered one of the worst WWE has ever inflicted on fans.
There were no excuses for it - it just sucked.
