10 Incredibly Creative Ways WWE Stars Got Themselves Over

5. John Morrison And The Miz Got Dirty

In 2008, The Miz and John Morrison were struggling to gain some attention for themselves.

They started out as adversaries but eventually found a common enemy in CM Punk and joined forces. The two had a similar sense of humor and flashiness to their wardrobe and ended up creating The Dirt Sheet, which was a short, weekly series on WWE.com. It was years ahead of its time.

The show was highly absurd and filled with complete randomness. One episode featured Miz and Morrison conducting a seance to talk to Kane’s father (before Paul Bearer passed away in real life). The man who conducted the seance was none other than...Mike Adamle?

They had a recurring gag of throwing powder into people’s faces, just like Mr. Fuji used to. They did a parody of the old Conan O’Brien bit where they’d take a photo of a celebrity/wrestler and move their own mouths over the image. It was usually a pretty poor (but still funny) impression. And they'd also take to the streets and insult wrestlings fans to their faces. It was AWESOME!

The skits helped the duo get their personalities over and helped them get noticed. Even though they were featured on TV, they weren't treated as any sort of legitimate threat. Their growing popularity helped them win a Slammy for Tag Team of The year and Best WWE.com Exclusive.

Not exactly as prestigious as an Oscar, but the series certainly helped them become relevant characters on a weekly basis and took their act to the next level.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
