10 Incredibly-Short Turnarounds Between UFC Fights
3. Chris Leben (14 Days)
Chris Leben didn't just fight twice in two weeks - he won both fights via stoppage.
'The Crippler's first of these two fights saw him earn a Knockout of the Night Bonus for his TKO of Aaron Simpson in the second round of the Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale on 19 June 2010. Just two weeks later, Leben would be thrust into the co-main event of UFC 116 against Yoshihiro Akiyama, as his original opponent, Wanderlei Silva, went down with a rib injury.
What resulted from this was the finest performance of Leben's career.
After being largely-outclassed in Round 1, Leben set the pace in Round 2, tuckering out Akiyama on his way to a submission victory via triangle choke with just 20 seconds to spare in the fight. His performance was so breathtaking that he would go on to earn Sherdog.com's "Comeback Fighter of the Year" award for 2010.
In the post-fight interview, Leben would call out the injured Wanderlei Silva, presumably to prove that he was more deserving of the co-main event PPV slot than he was. A year later, Leben would make good on his word, knocking out 'The Axe Murderer' in just 27 seconds.
Between that and winning two fights by stoppage in two weeks, it's hard to say what's more impressive.
