Technically not an "Indy guy", Okada is one of the top stars of New Japan Pro Wrestling, the second biggest most successful wrestling company in the world (What? You thought it was TNA?) Breaking out on the scene in January 2012 the then twenty four year old Okada shocked Japanese fans when he won the IWGP title from dominant champion Hiroshi Tanahashi and went on to prove that he deserved the belt with absolutely stunning matches against the companies top stars. A winner of the Wrestling Observer Most Improved Wrestler of the Year (2012) Match of the Year (2012), Feud of the Year (2012 and 2013) and Finisher of the Year (2012-2013) Okada already has a resume any of the young hopefuls in NXT would kill for. Ranked Number 1 in Power Slam Magazines annual PS 50 last year, he can justifiably call himself the best in the world (at least in 2013). If CM Punk were to venture into New Japan (and we believe they could very well meet his asking price) then Okada should be the very first wrestler he should face. It would be as much a test for Punk as it would be for the Rainmaker.
As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG.
I may have a problem!
But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
