AJ Styles drew some comparisons to CM Punk last year during his "I'm leaving and taking the World Title with me!" storyline in TNA. Like Punk he too found himself leaving his home promotion and having many doors wide open for him. Well AJ Styles didn't waste any time sitting on his couch. At WrestleMania weekend this year, Styles debuted in New Japan Pro Wrestling as the new leader of the Bullet Club. He has since defeated Kazuchika Okada to become the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion (the first American to hold the title since Brock Lesnar didn't you know!) and makes frequent stops by his old stomping ground ROH. While Punk and Styles have actually faced each other before in ROH, this would still feel like a fresh main event because both wrestlers spent the last decade defining their legacies in separate promotions. Should they ever face each other in the future, our expectations will be sky high.
As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG.
I may have a problem!
But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
