10 Indie Stars Ruined By WWE

2. Austin Aries

Having gone over the various ways in which Neville has been misused in WWE, it's only fair that we do the same with Austin Aries, who became The Man That Gravity Forgot's chief antagonist during their time on 205 Live.

For Aries, the humiliation was arguably even greater. Not only did he seldom get a chance to appear on either of the main roster brands, he didn't even manage to capture the Cruiserweight Championship, losing all three of his title matches on pay-per-view.

Again, it's not that the cruiserweight division is bad in and of itself. It's an undeniably good way to introduce the likes Jack Gallagher, Noam Dar and Cedric Alexander - wrestlers who are taking their first steps in the industry - to a mainstream audience.

But Aries had already been a world champion in ROH and TNA. To throw him into pre-show matches felt like a massive waste of his talents, and it's kind of understandable that he eventually became fed up of it.
