10 Indie Wrestling Acts WWE Must Sign For NXT In 2016
9. Michael Bennett & Maria Kanellis
Mike Bennett has been wrestling for 13 years and has only gotten better as time goes on. After getting started in the North East and honing his craft in local federations, he made the leap to Ring Of Honor. For a couple of years he was a staple performer of ROH but something seemed missing to take him to the next level and he found it in a partnership with his real life girlfriend, Maria Kanellis. Maria had a run with WWE where she played a ditzy bimbo and even had a Playboy cover but ultimately she fizzled out and didnt really find her feet in wrestling again until her partnership with Bennett. For the last three years, the two have been a great duo who have made fans hate them, forced the audience to applaud them and proved that the wrestler and valet combination can still work in the right environment. Bennett is only 30 years old and has negotiated with WWE in the past. If WWE were to bring Bennett and, his now wife, Maria into NXT, they could become a mainstay act incredibly quickly with the chemistry and talent they have together. If Finn Balor needs a top heel opponent in 2016 to feud over the NXT Championship, look no further than Michael Bennett.
