10 Indisputable Reasons Why Vince McMahon Is Not A Genius

9. He€™s Created Many, Many Awful Storylines

Again, you can€™t expect Vince McMahon to create a compelling storyline every time out. But wouldn€™t you expect him to create a good one at least half the time? How about a third? Sadly, his average of developing an intriguing story for his characters is shockingly low. Sure, we€™ve had Andre the Giant€™s build to challenging Hulk Hogan, the Mega Powers collide arc and Austin vs. McMahon, but those are the exceptions.

On the flip side, we€™ve had (brace yourself) Mark Henry and Mae Young€™s romance, Shawn Michaels teaming up with God, Tim White attempting suicide on 15 different occasions, Goldust with Tourette€™s Syndrome, Santina, John Cena embracing the hate, Val Venis almost getting his member cut off, The Big Bossman stealing The Big Show€™s father€™s casket, and of course, Kate Vick.

That€™s really just scratching the surface, and while most stories aren€™t that bad, they€™re just uninspiring. In fact, most of the roster is left without any story or character development to speak of. Can€™t a genius think of something for a guy like Kofi Kingston, Tyson Kidd, or Dolph Ziggler to do over the course of literally years? There€™s thousands of fans around the world with no vested interest in the company who have given more thought to what talent like that could do than Vince ever has.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
