Messrs Hall and Nash were on their way out of WWE. WCW had offered the pair more money, which was guaranteed whatever the weather, and fewer dates to work, reportedly halving the would be Outsider's workload. But before Nash and Hall could leave, Big Daddy Cool had one last match to fulfil with WWE at a live event against longtime friend, and fellow Kliq member, Shawn Michaels. At the time, HBK and Hall were faces while Nash and Triple H, who completed the kayfabe breaking foursome, were heels. A packed Madison Square Garden could not believe what they were seeing when Hunter and Razor took to the ring and embraced their on-screen rivals. The quartet put the business to one side to put their friendship over in a move that would have ruffled more than a few feathers. Vince allegedly agreed to The Kliq doing a pointing and respectful scene with Hall and HHH standing at the MSG entrance way, but the guys went over his head. With Nash and Hall gone and Michaels Vince's top guy, Triple H was the man that took the hit for the incident.
