For our earliest entrant on this list, we go back to the very first Elimination Chamber match, in the mythical year of 2002.

Survivor Series played host to the bout, which pitted Booker T, Kane, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, and Rob Van Dam against World Heavyweight Champion, Triple H.

The Game didn't leave the chamber with his title - he lost that to HBK - but he almost didn't leave the chamber at all.

One memorable spot from the match was RVD hitting the Five Star Frog Splash onto Triple H from the top of a pod. It wasn't just memorable for the spectacular visual it created, but also the fact that it almost killed the champ.

The spot went wrong and Van Dam didn't land on Triple H's chest - he landed on his throat. This caused swelling in The Game's trachea and esophagus and almost caused him to stop breathing.

Somehow, Trips finished the match and was lucky to avoid any serious damage, but, had things gone differently, the first Elimination Chamber match could easily have been the last.
