10 Most Innovative WWE Superstars Of All Time

7. Jushin Liger

Before Mysterio dazzled American audiences in WCW there was another masked man who similarly impressed with his style and work ethic. Jushin 'Thunder' Liger was a product of New Japan Pro Wrestling's notoriously hard dojo system. After graduating and then taking trips to America, Mexico and Britain to improve his craft he returned to New Japan as a star with a gimmick and costume patterned after a popular anime. Liger took a trip to WCW in 1992 and had a collection of classic matches with the late Brian Pillman. Featuring state-of-the-art wrestling and acrobatics, the WCW audience had never seen anything like it. Liger returned to WCW in the 90s and had further great matches with Ultimo Dragon, Dean Malenko and Rey Mysterio but spent the majority of his time in his homeland. Liger is also responsible for inventing many moves including the shooting star press. No, Billy Kidman did not invent that one. Nearly 50, Liger still wrestles in Japan and is as popular and innovative as ever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoQJSOij3rs
