This was Triple H's last throw of the dice.

This was Triple H reneging on a stipulation from the very same year to give in to his most base promotional impulses.

This was Triple H at his most Triple H trying to crack a puzzling mathematical formula, poring over the modern history of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

He was trying to work out the secret trick to crack the star rating scale. He knew this *******1/4 match had to go long. An hour should do it, he thought. He also knew that state-of-the-art action was another key. Trying to solve the riddle, he said the words "Kick pads" as a meditative affirmation in order to catch the big fish. His brow furrowed. What if...nah, that's not it. Or what if...

Yes.

Yes.

That's it.

Four super-workers. One hour.

There's more workrate in that than anything!

Yes, despite claiming that Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa would never again wrestle, they were really good at wrestling, so they had to, alongside Finn Bàlor and Adam Cole, work what Triple H devised for 'NXT Super Tuesday' as the most workrate match to ever workrate.

It was only good. A bit too long, lots of time spent on the outside, but you can't fault the graft.

You can be bored to tears at the graft and the desperate star-chasing purpose behind it, but you can't fault it.
