For a very long time, the Torture Rack was the go-to submission hold for wrestlers who wanted to use their superior physical stature as a weapon. Those who had huge shoulders, long arms, and the strength to hold someone on their upper back for long period of time would ‘stretch’ their opponents’ sides against their bodies, creating the illusion of a painful hold.

Of course, every so often, someone comes along and takes that move and makes it many times more impressive…and painful. In this case, it was Amazing Kong, and she took a timeless wrestling submission hold (one that might’ve lost its lustre in fans’ eyes) and turned it into a truly painful hold. Kong (who had little difficulty in lifting other women up) would drape her opponent over her shoulders and stretch them as far as possible.

But then, to really add to their misery, she’d grab that victim’s head in one hand and legs in another, and wrench them together in front of her face, so that her opponent would literally kick themselves in the head.

That hold provides a double dose of pain. Not only is the victim’s torso being stretched even further by pushing opposite extremities together, but you also have the pain of feeling your own boots hitting you in the back of the head.

Now if only Kong could’ve done this while in WWE…
