When was the last time you saw a women’s wrestler, aside from Awesome Kong, execute a Powerbomb? It might not have been fairly recently, because the powerbomb is usually reserved for the strongest wrestlers, especially in WWE (after the D’Lo/Droz incident).

In Japan, however, not only can you find women Powerbombing each other with surprising regularity, but you can also find them executing one of the most devastating Powerbomb variations in wrestling history: the Niagara Driver.

In its simplest form, the Niagara Driver is a sit-out Powerbomb with a slight twist: instead of the victim sitting on both of the user’s shoulders, they’re only on one shoulder. This makes the move extremely difficult to execute safely, because both wrestlers have to shift their weight when executing the landing.

Furthermore, this is Japanese wrestling we’re talking about, and more often than not, moves like this are angled differently, so the poor victim ends up taking more damage on their upper back and neck (in what’s commonly known as a ‘head drop’).

And you thought Batista’s powerbomb was devastating.
