10 Insane WWE Dream Matches That Could Realistically Happen In 2020

Sting vs. The Undertaker... it's now or bloody never, guys.

In the ever changing world of WWE, we are often told that 'anything is possible' and despite the high level of cynicism we have towards the product in the modern day, the adage still rings true from time to time.

The best example of this is the idea of the 'dream match'.

Unfortunately, this can often lead to many fans fantasising over far-fetched generational clashes (Hulk Hogan vs. John Cena in their current states, for instance) that are better left on crappy WWE 2K games than being willed into existence.

However, in some cases a fabled 'dream match' can become something entirely more realistic and - dare I say it - downright entertaining than it has any right to be.

Case in point, Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg should not have produced anything resembling a compelling programme if the WrestleMania XX showdown between the pair was anything to go by. But the 2016/17 'dream-matches' happened and they managed to produce the best bout on the card at that year's 'Mania, too.

With all that in mind, 2020 brings with it the potential for a whole host of new 'dream matches' which could very realistically steal the show at any given moment.

So, let's take a look at a few which genuinely could go down...

10. Edge Vs. Seth Rollins

Anyone who returns to WWE after a lengthy absence will very quickly become a hot property.

That's just the way things work... absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that.

So, it comes as little surprise that fans are now fantasising about the whole universe of possibilities which have now presented themselves, thanks to Edge incredibly returning to a landscape completely unlike the one he left behind nearly a decade ago.

There's the obvious 'dream' opponents. Kevin Owens. AJ Styles. Finn Bálor. Possibly even a greatest hits bout vs. John Cena or Rey Mysterio...

However, one generational 'dream match' which not only leaves your mouth watering but actually makes sense is a Seth Rollins vs. 'The Rated R Superstar' grudge match.

Their feud was partially established when Rollins threatened to crush Edge's neck a few years back, mid-way through 'The Architect's tenure as The Authority's poster boy. Twitter then escalated things in recent times when Edge and Rollins' other half 'The Man' Becky Lynch started throwing barbs on the social media platform and Rollins' past photography antics were used as ammo for Mr. Copeland.

With Rollins reigning as the resident a*sehole of Monday Night Raw, a feud involving Edge trying to make a statement by humiliating the 'Monday Night Messiah' would be both entertaining and culminate in some terrific 'dream matches'.
