10 Insane WWE Stunts That Were Totally Pointless

5. Eyes Off The Prize(Fighter)

Perhaps unlucky victims of WWE uncharacteristically not having a good shot set up to capture the bone-breaking magic of their own product at Money In The Bank 2018, Kevin Owens and Braun Strowman's ladder battle towards the end of the eponymous main event didn't even warrant a replay despite 'KO' taking one of the biggest ever falls from the dangerous implement.

Tragically, it was small change for Owens in the months that followed anyway. Strowman obliterated him week after week on Monday Night Raw in the aftermath, then threw him from the top of a steel cage through a table to 'lose' a match against the former 'Prizefighter' weeks later. The original bump snuck back into the video package for their match at SummerSlam, but that itself almost went longer than the squash conclusion that followed.

Owens was once both the performer and persona that knew better than this. Many fans still cite his fakeout spot against Finn Bálor during their own ladder match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn as one of his best ever spots. Owens the character wasn't daft enough to damage himself, whilst Owens the man didn't need to take the risk. On both counts, times have rather depressingly changed.
