10 Interesting Observations From Attending NXT TakeOver: Back To Brooklyn Live
3. What It Takes
Few women's matches in NXT history - few matches in NXT history, period - have had the sort of buildup that Bayley and Asuka's rematch at TakeOver did. The two women first clashed nearly five months ago at TakeOver: Dallas, with Asuka ending Bayley's storybook reign with the NXT Women's Championship. Since then, Bayley has dealt with injury and adversity on her road back to the belt, but she finally got her rematch on Saturday.
A couple of weeks ago, Asuka accused Bayley of not having "what it takes" to beat her for the belt, and at TakeOver, she was proven right. Bayley fought hard, using everything in her arsenal, but it wasn't enough - Asuka even kicked out of the Bayley-to-Belly Suplex. The challenger was also determined - she managed to escape from the Asuka lock - but a series of kicks from the champion was enough to put her out for three.
Bayley's relationship with the NXT Women's Title has come to an end - she will not be the woman to take the belt from Asuka. On the plus side, the sendoff-style reception the star got from the Barclays fans might hint at an impending main roster debut.
