10 John Cena Matches We Still Need To See

10. Vs. Chris Hero

When John Cena was defending the United States Championship on a weekly basis against all-comers, many of us began to fantasy book a worldwide version of the challenge. It was basically an excuse to imagine Cena going against a whole host of wrestlers from all over the world, leading to scenarios like Cena vs. Willie Mack, Cena vs. Tim Donst, Cena vs. Toru Yano and lord knows what else.

My own plan had the challenge coming to an end at the hands of arguably the MVP of independent wrestling in 2016, Chris Hero. Hero had a frustratingly short time in NXT as Kassius Ohno a few years back, and he will forever go down as a talent that the company failed to utilise properly.

And no, his look/size isn't an issue. This is 2016, and folk still saying that professional wrestlers need to be carrying muscles where people don't have places are woefully out of touch. Chris Hero can wrestle any style at any time and do it as well as any other, and there is no reason to believe a showcase match between Cena and Hero would be anything less than wonderful.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
