10 John Cena Matches We Still Need To See

9. Vs. Marty Martinez

From a name many put at the top of their non-WWE lists to one that doesn't get mentioned anywhere near as much as he should. Despite a fairly rocky beginning Marty 'The Moth' Martinez has grown into one of the sneaky-best performers on Lucha Underground, an impressive state of affairs when you consider the litany of talent available to that company.

Martinez was actually a competitor on WWE Tough Enough way back in 2011, but was forced to withdraw from the competition due to injury. After completing his recovery Martinez turned up on the upstart El Rey Network show, and has become one of the few true heels on the show.

A feud between Cena and Martinez would lead to some wildly entertaining vignettes and promos, and a gimmick-heavy match to blow it all off would well and truly confirm Martinez's place in the modern hierarchy of professional wrestling. If nothing else, it would be fun to see Marty and Mariposa kidnap Cena for a summer.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
