10 Killer PPV Openers Nobody Talks About

9. The Hardy Boys vs. MNM - WWE Royal Rumble 2007

By 2007, MNM had become one of the best tag-teams in North American wrestling, and were tearing it up on a near-nightly basis in WWE. It seemed for all the world that when the team broke up, Johnny Nitro would go on to become a star, something he later achieved as John Morrison. The Hardy Boys, Matt & Jeff, had reunited in 2006, primarily to feud with MNM, and both tandems had produced an excellent scrap at the ill-fated ECW December To Dismember event. Topping their efforts at the following month's Royal Rumble, both duos pulled out all the stops, and put together a truly under-rated classic tag match. Only a few short months later, MNM would disband, and The Hardys would once again start focusing on their respective singles careers, which makes this match a collectors item as far as unsung gems of WWE's tag-team history goes. Both teams were extremely well-suited to one another, and it's during matches such as this which performers like Nitro were able to grow.
