10 Killer PPV Openers Nobody Talks About

6. Shelton Benjamin vs. Carlito - WWE Vengeance 2005

Once the tag-team partner for Brock Lesnar in OVW, Shelton Benjamin carved a bigger legacy for himself upon being called up to the main WWE roster, turning out brilliant match after brilliant match. Similarly, Carlito, the son of legendary Puerto Rican performer Carlos Colon, had been proving popular since making his debut in 2004. Tasked with opening WWE's Vengeance Pay-Per-View in 2005, the pair were only given a little over 10 minutes - including entrances - to work their magic. Thankfully, both wrestlers were sufficiently talented enough to make the best of the situation, and worked a tremendous opening bout which warmed the crowd up magnificently. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2n9p8_shelton-benjamin-vs-carlito-interco_sport It'd be unfair to say that Carlito vs. Shelton Benjamin overshadowed the titanic Hell In A Cell main event between Triple H and Batista on the show, but it held its own, and deserves far more praise than it gets.
