10 Kurt Angle WWE Matches We Must See

7. Rusev

...it is a story that should have been told already. As 2014 became 2015, Rusev was riding high as one of the top heels in the company. He was undefeated, he held the United States Championship and was defeating all those standing up against him. The WWE Universe was crying out for an American Hero to vanquish the Bulgarian Brute, and instead they got John Cena. Cena defeated Rusev at Mania, which led to the Bulgarian being emasculated afterwards and shuffled down to midcard nothingness. It is difficult to imagine the same thing happening if Kurt Angle was in that position. There has never been any huge overriding desperate attempt to 'protect' Angle, so the feud and matches between him and Rusev wouldn't involve stacking the odds so high that the heel comes out looking like a chump on the losing side. The quality of the match would undoubtedly be better as well. The Cena/Rusev matches were lacking due to Cena's occasional clunkiness and the overriding knowledge that whatever happens, lol Cena wins. Kurt Angle is every bit as good in the selling department as he is on offence, the same of which can be said for the former Alexander. Angle vs. Rusev not only sounds like a Hollywood movie plot, it would play out every bit as exciting as one.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
