10 Last-Minute WWE Backlash 2017 Rumours You Need To Know
6. Something New For Tye Dillinger
Following WrestleMania, Tye Dillinger finally got his shot at the main roster - after 10 years of trying to break into WWE, he was called up to Smackdown. His highly interactive gimmick has made him a hit on the show, but he's still been rudderless in the month-plus since arriving on the blue brand.
At Backlash's kickoff show, Dillinger will be in action against Aiden English, who's gotten a bit of a singles push since the firing of his Vaudevillains partner, Simon Gotch. Still, the program with English isn't doing anything in the long term for Dillinger, who's 36 years old and probably shouldn't be waiting a few years to reach his full potential.
Ideally, this match would serve as little more than an opportunity for Dillinger to both get a win and start something else - he could beat English decisively, then later in the PPV he could come face to face with a heel higher up the card (maybe Erick Rowan or Baron Corbin). Still, given that Smackdown's roster is kind of thin and everyone's got something going on, they probably won't rush into anything with Dillinger.
