8. Dolph Ziggler Vs. Chad Gable Is Added To The Card
Most of Smackdown's male stars are accounted for at Battleground, with two notable exceptions - Dolph Ziggler and Chad Gable. It would make sense for the two men to face off with one another.
Dolph has been shiftless since turning heel, which is a shame, as last year many fans hoped that a turn would revitalize his career. Since turning, though, his only notable program has been with Shinsuke Nakamura, and that did few favors for either man. A PPV appearance isn't enough to fix Dolph's problems, but it would be a start.
Gable, on the other hand, seems to be in for some good fortune. While American Alpha was split up by the revelation that Jason Jordan is the son of Raw GM Kurt Angle, Gable has reportedly impressed WWE's decision makers and is in for his own singles push on the blue brand. This past week on Smackdown, he was featured in a sit-down interview, giving him some renewed focus.
Odds are against any specific match being added to the show, but this would have been a fun contest to drop on the card.
