9. Jon Jones And Brock Lesnar Face Off
Perennial UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jonathan "Bones" Jones reclaimed the title three weeks ago at UFC 214, defeating Daniel Cormier by knockout. The match marked Jones's return to competition after a yearlong suspension, and he had words for another fighter who was suspended at the same time - Brock Lesnar. Jones called out Lesnar after the match, indicating that he wanted to fight the WWE Universal Champion.
While that fight is likely to headline a UFC event in the near future, what sort of effect will it have on WWE? It's hard to say, given that Jones would be a heavy favorite heading into the bout and Brock's last UFC contest went unacknowledged on WWE television after "The Beast" tested positive for a banned substance.
Still, Jones has teased the possibility of appearing at SummerSlam to further his feud with Lesnar, so something could happen. Still, there's little WWE has to gain from running an angle between the men, because they won't be fighting a worked match anytime soon. Jones could be shown in the front row, but don't expect more... though a confrontation would harken back to the Undertaker-Lesnar showdown at UFC 121.
