8. Shinsuke Nakamura Wins The WWE Championship
For weeks, rumors swirled that when John Cena returned to WWE, he'd be challenging Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship. That match was said to be taking place at SummerSlam, but when Cena did make his comeback, his road to the belt wasn't that smooth. He was booked in a number one contendership match against Shinsuke Nakamura, and it was Nakamura who emerged victorious.
Now, the two-time NXT Champion will be getting a shot at Mahal at SummerSlam, giving him the opportunity to make good on his journey from New Japan to WWE. Will Nakamura reign as WWE Champion?
Don't count on it - at least not yet. Mahal is still relatively untested as champion, having only feuded with Randy Orton so far. Pulling the plug on the experiment now would make Mahal's entire reign look like a waste of time. It's more likely that Mahal will steal a win over Nakamura, then continue to hold the WWE Championship into the fall.
