2. Bells And Whistles In The Main Event

Another thing I’d say about the main event this Sunday is that I don’t envisage it being pretty.

These two have already gone at it once before—as if you needed reminding—and that match ended up being one of the biggest disappointments in WrestleMania history. Obviously the situation today is rather different to the one back then in 2004, but even though both guys will be more motivated this time, they’re also a whole lot older.

Don’t get me wrong, Goldberg looks to be in amazing shape. But sometimes an aesthetically-pleasing look doesn’t necessarily translate to good in-ring fitness. In fact, he’s already spoken about how he tweaked his shoulder on Raw this past week, and went on to say that his body feels “horrible”. That’s hardly the best news ahead of a match with Brock Lesnar, and so I’m fully expecting there to be bells, whistles, smoke and mirrors galore to make up for any potential shortcomings in this one.

Be it unexpected run-ins, interference from Paul Heyman, or any other kind of dodgy shenanigans you can think of, I fully expect to see some kind of tomfoolery to atone for the probable ring rust that both Lesnar and Goldberg will likely have accrued.

Of course, that doesn’t mean it won’t be thoroughly entertaining.
