Older fans will cast minds back to 'Mania XX after reading that entry heading. Back in 2004, Austin played special guest referee for a quite disastrous clash between Brock Lesnar and Bill Goldberg that MSG took a gigantic dump all over. In fact, 'Stone Cold' was the only one in the match those fans liked.
Is history repeating itself a wee bit here?
Eyebrows were raised when WWE announced that Brock would be facing the towering Omos in SoFi next month. That doesn't sound particularly WrestleMania-worthy, but it's bloody happening - WWE has produced a graphic and everything. Perhaps a few more bells and whistles would improve it.
Announcing that Steve Austin will be guest ref would certainly spice things up. MVP would be livid, but Lesnar would also be suspicious due to his on/off history with the legend. Then, if WWE deem it necessary, they can always tease physicality between Steve and Brock post-match.
