10 Last-Minute WWE Extreme Rules 2016 Rumors You Need To Know
7. Ric Flair Interferes In The Women's Championship Match
At Payback, Natalya took on Women's Champion Charlotte in a match that saw Bret Hart at ringside in order to counteract any interference from Ric Flair. Flair didn't end up getting involved, but Charlotte won when referee Charles Robinson (formerly Ric Flair's associate in WCW), called a false submission when Charlotte locked Natalya in the Sharpshooter.
A submission rematch for the two was set for Extreme Rules, with Ric Flair banned from ringside. Neither of those stipulations prevent last month's finish from happening again, but the bout should still be a good one.
It's been announced that if Flair does interfere in the match, Charlotte will automatically be stripped of the title and it will be awarded to Natalya. Is that enough to stop it from happening, though? It's possible Flair could find a way to interfere unnoticed, helping his daughter win without costing her the championship.
Possible, but unlikely. If WWE wants to get the stipulation over, they'll have to honor it - plus, even if the referee didn't see Flair, Shane McMahon could play deus ex machina and overturn the decision. More likely, Charlotte will hit Natalya with a weapon to soften up her leg, then win with the Figure 8.
