10 Last-Minute WWE Extreme Rules 2016 Rumors You Need To Know
8. The New Day Lose The Tag Team Titles
Sometimes in wrestling, something makes so much sense that it seems like there's absolutely no way it can't happen - not going ahead with a certain plan would not just spite the fans, but it would hurt the company and its superstars. Of course, this being pro wrestling (and WWE in particular), sometimes that's not enough justification to do it.
The "it" in this case is keeping the WWE Tag Team Titles on The New Day. The group has held the belts since SummerSlam of last year (that'll make it 273 days come Sunday), and their face turn during the winter only added to their skyrocketing popularity. Over WrestleMania weekend, The New Day were the company's largest merchandise sellers.
The Vaudevillains, meanwhile, have been totally cold since getting called up from NXT. They did win a tournament to earn a shot at the titles, which means they're faring better than they could have, but the fans just don't care about them. They're not charismatic or interesting enough to hold up their end of a feud with The New Day, meaning the champs have to carry the program all by themselves.
I'm not expecting The Vaudevillains to win the Tag Team Titles, but I am dreading it just a little bit.
