We all loved his shuffle from behind the curtain, playa! But Teddy Long was never the greatest General Manager in the history of SmackDown. Even while he spent what seemed like 20 years in the job. He spent most of the time as GM as a babyface - making around one million tag team matches along the way - but Teddy was just so predictable. Sure enough, he'd have the power to make matches, but he essentially took on the role of glorified announcer. We'd seen it week after week - number of babyfaces in the ring opposite number of heels, arguments and brawls ensue - and Long comes out to tell us what we already know. Long was a good talker, so at least he had that in his locker, but he never felt like a figure of authority. Instead, he was just a friendly face you'd see every now and again who repeated the same stories without a care in the world if you were getting bored of his presence. Holla!
