10 Least Effective Swerve Turns In Wrestling History

7. Kevin Nash

Go back and watch the pre-match stare-down. The Georgia Dome, and I'm probably only using this word because that tw*t Michael Cole has conditioned me to do so, was electric.

The fans wanted to see a wrestling match between Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash. They hadn't seen it before. It was a massive, massive deal: two former stablemates and major household names set to battle in an epic clash two and a half years in the making set against a major, stadium-sized backdrop. And then, in order to resuscitate the dead horse that was the nWo, the tired faction fans were rapturously celebrating the demise of, Hogan prodded Nash in the chest. Nash theatrically flung himself to the ground, voluntarily relinquishing and sh*tting on the WCW World Heavyweight Title.

This was the opposite of effective in itself, and because Tony Schiavone had compelled viewers to change the channel, putting "butts" in the WWF "seats". That other company never looked back, enjoying a subsequent undefeated ratings streak that didn't end because Nash fancied himself.

"This is what World Championship Wrestling is all about!" said Tony Schiavone, as Hogan and Nash squared off.

He was right about that, at least.
