10 Least Effective WWE World Champions Ever
6. Seth Rollins
We all remember the magical moment that Seth Rollins won the WWE World Championship. Just as it seemed as though Roman Reigns was going to defy the odds and vanquish The Beast Incarnate at WrestleMania 31, Rollins sprinted down to the ring to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase, Curb Stomp both Reigns and Brock Lesnar into dust, and steal the title on the grandest stage of them all. It was as incredible moment.
If Rollins' title reign had ended the next night, it still would have qualified as an incredible WrestleMania moment. As it was, Rollins went on to hold the strap for an impressive 220 days, before having to vacate it in November 2015 due to an injury suffered in Dublin, Ireland.
Rollins' reign should have been a career-making spot for one of the most talented members of the WWE roster, but throughout Rollins was forced to rely on The Authority to retain his title. What makes this even worse is that Rollins was consistently playing second fiddle to stars of the past, men like Triple H, Big Show, Kane, and Randy Orton. The new era was being pushed aside to keep old timers relevant.
Rollins was so ineffectual as champion that the title was lost on numerous occasions, being saved only by the veterans or good old lady luck. The latter was best seen when Neville (of all people) had Rollins down for a three count, only to inadvertently push Rollins' foot onto the ropes to break up the pin.
Here's hoping any future reigns Rollins has see him treated in a more competent fashion.
