10 Least Successful WWE Tag Teams Of The Last 20 Years

3. Mean Street Posse (Abs, Rodney, Gas)

A combination of real-life pals of Shane McMahon (Pete Gas, Rodney) and a veteran wrestler (Joey Abs - a.k.a. Jason Arhdnt), the Mean Street Posse (of Greenwich, Connecticut) were comedy foils that managed to help Shane-o-Mac defend his WWF European Championship. They later competed earnestly in memorable battles in the 24/7 era of the WWF Hardcore Championship (including a stint during Wrestlemania each holding the belt briefly). Despite a shocking 19 televised tag team matches, I couldn't find a single record of the Mean Street Posse winning in a traditional tag team competition! Yup, they were 0-19 in tag competition. They were beat by everyone. Established teams beat them (Dudley Boyz, Too Cool, Lo Down, Hardy Boyz, Hollys). Goons beat them (Brisco & Patterson). There was even an episode of Jakked (1/10/00) where BJ Payne, Jack Black and Jerry Miller beat them. Perhaps the saddest footnote of the MSP run was when none other than the British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith joined them. On the 11/8/99 RAW, the British Bulldog, Pete Gas, Rodney and Joey Abs lost to Christian, Edge and Headbanger Mosh & Headbanger Thrasher. Later that week at Survivor Series, the 4-man MSP team lost to Gangrel, Mark Henry, Steve Blackman & Val Venis. Seeing Davey Boy wrestle in blue jeans was sad. Seeing Davey team with the Mean Street Posse was sadder. Davey left the WWF in May 2000 and passed away two years later. The Mean Street Posse moved down to Memphis Championship Wrestling (MCW) (WWF's developmental territory) in 2000 where they trained alongside guys like Bryan Danielsen (Daniel Bryan), Reckless Youth, K-Krush (R-Truth) and learned from Steven Regal (William Regal), Jim Neidhart, Jerry Lawler and Curtis Hughes.
