'Rowdy' Roddy Piper was one of the biggest names in professional wrestling history. His feud with Hulk Hogan in the 1980s helped make him a legend, but before he was one of the industry's top heels, he was grappling with much fuzzier opponents.

Early on in his career the Hall of Famer decided to square off against Victor the Wrestling Bear, and Piper's encounter with Victor was a wild one indeed.

When he first encountered Victor, the bear was standing on his hind legs and drinking a pint of Wild Turkey followed by a bottle of Coca-Cola. The young Roddy Piper, who was desperate for work at the time, reluctantly agreed to wrestle the giant bear.

The match was a bit of disaster. Prior to the contest, the bear's trainer put honey on Piper's trunks, which caused the drunken bear to go after the rowdy one in quite an aggressive manner.

The incident certainly didn't go down as one of Roddy Piper's career highlights. Moreover, we can definitely add his name to the list of wrestlers who didn't enjoy their encounter with the wrestling bear.
