10 Legendary Wrestlers Who Never Won A Major World Title

9. Rick Rude

Rick Rude did hold a World Heavyweight Title, as did a few others on this list. But like all of them it’s hard to call it a “major” world title. He was a WCW International World Heavyweight Champion. This title was a big deal in WCW and names like Ric Flair and Sting were connected to it. But even against that kind of competition he was the name that held the titles the most times and for the most days.

The thing is, that title was only active for a year. Then it was retired after being united with the more popular and prestigious WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Rick Rude’s claim at being a legit world champion was wiped from history. And yes he did hold the WCWA World Heavyweight Championship, but that’s one of those titles that had its legitimacy marred by frequent changes and Dusty finishes.

That’s pretty tragic seeing as how he was one of the most respected and charismatic performers of the 90’s. Unfortunately, in this time of walking giants, Rude just got lost in the shuffle. He retired, due to back injury, in 1994.
