1. Hacksaw Jim Duggan

Jim Duggan was the definition of a man who did not need a championship around his waist to get over with fans. Hacksaw was the epitome of a good guy in wrestling. The fanatically patriotic superstar earned the admiration and adulation of fans across the country. With his coveted 2x4 acting as his own trophy, Duggan lived and breathed off the love of the fans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EE2cgM9t0l0 Still, Hacksaw held a handful of unofficial titles in the WWF, as well as attaining other non-championship accomplishments. Duggan was the first ever winner of the Royal Rumble way back in 1988. The original incarnation of the annual event saw only twenty men compete in the over-the-top-rope battle royal with Duggan last eliminating the colossal One Man Gang. A year later, Hacksaw would be crowned the King of the Ring after defeating Haku for the crown. Haku had was bestowed with crown after former king, Harley Race, was forced to vacate the title after suffering an injury at the hands of Hulk Hogan. Before the days of the illustrious King of the Ring tournament, the King moniker was passed from superstar to superstar in special singles contests. Duggan would lose his crown to Randy Savage, allowing for the €œMacho Man€ to transform into the €œMacho King€.
