10 Legends Who Shockingly Invaded ECW

5. Sid

Sid Eudy -- known at various times as Sid Justice, Sid Vicious, Sycho Sid, and just Sid -- was a massive, intimidating superstar. Like Scott Hall, he had had runs of varying success in both the WWE and WCW. While ECW fans were no strangers to seeing former Federation and WCW stars, Sid€™s debut with the company had to be one of the least expected and most shocking After leaving the WWE in late 1997, Sid spent some time touring the independents -- particularly in Tennessee. However, in January of €˜99, the self professed Master and Ruler of the World would debut in ECW. The faithful ECW fans, somewhat surprisingly, ate up everything Sid did while in the company. Arguably, Sid€™s shining moment came at the 1999 Living Dangerously PPV. Sid came out to answer the challenge of the Dudley Boyz -- who were arguably the hottest heels in the company. After first gaining the upper hand due to their numbers advantage, the Dudleys were then laid out by Sid following a double chokeslam. Shortly thereafter, Sid was joined by Little Spike Dudley. As Sid continued to pound on Devon -- even hurling a stretcher on top of him -- Spike hit the Acid Drop on Buh Buh Ray for the win. After the match, Sid would attack Spike, hurling him off the entrance ramp through a table.
Sid would stick around until May, leaving for the greener -- and richer -- pastures of WCW. Supposedly, Sid left ECW because of the monetary issues the company was starting to experience. Despite his brief run with the promotion, Sid was able to make an impact in ECW.
