10 Lessons Learned From Attending WWE NXT TakeOver London

2. London Doesn't Play Well With Other Cities

NXT seemed to be reasonably well-prepared for a lot of England's customs, but one that they didn't bank on was this: Every city in the UK hates every other city in the UK. Greg Hamilton mentioned all the other places the company had been on the tour, like Nottingham, Blackpool, Cardiff, and with every new city named, the crowd would pelt him with boos and jeers. Even Sami Zayn, who returned to face Tye Dillinger, the Top-Knot W**ker, in a dark main event, was taken aback. He took to the microphone at the end of the night to thank the crowd and screamed, "I'm back!" The crowd cheered. He told them how thankful everyone in the back was for our reactions. The crowd cheered. He then said that they'd received similar reactions in Blackpool. The crowd booed. That's how territorial the British get: they'd even boo Sami Zayn. The reaction was so negative that Zayn stopped, looked at the crowd and said, "Er... is this some sort of British heat that I don't know about?" Yes, Sami, you will never understand. You will never understand how much we hate Blackpool.
