10 Lessons WWE Raw Needs To Learn From SmackDown Right Now

8. Understand The Strengths And Weakness' Of A Superstar

The fact that Ricochet isn't main eventing every episode of Monday Night RAW is outrageous. One of the most athletic performers of this generation has been reduced to a basic jobber. The reason for this is that the RAW Creative Team (Or probably Vince McMahon) doesn't understand the strengths of his character.

Ricochet shouldn't be cutting promos. His offence and in-ring abilities should speak for themselves. He shouldn't be given a nonsensical superhero gimmick when his high-flying move-set shows audiences that is who he is. He should be pushed to the moon, but the creative direction just isn't there.

Now take a look at SmackDown. Kevin Owens has been in a big-time story with Roman Reigns for the past few months, but the company have been playing to his strengths. His promo work and his work rate have been the top priority. They haven't slotted him into a goofy comedy role. That role is instead filled by Chad Gable. An all-rounder who can deliver comedy just as well as Kurt Angle in his heyday. SmackDown knows how to show peoples' strengths while hiding their weaknesses, which makes sense considering Paul Heyman is on the blue brand.

RAW needs to start looking deeper at their roster and they need to understand that not every superstar is the same. Each one can be a star in their own right, they just need to be used in the correct way.
