5. His Interest In Comic Books
Punk's love of comic books might be the least surprising entry on this list, but it is part of Punk's identity and manifests itself in various forms. Punk has even been quoted as saying that comic books, jazz, and professional wrestling are three of the original arts that the United States has given to the rest of the world. When reading something like that, it's no surprise when Punk ends up writing the introduction to a comic book as he did in 2012 for the Avengers vs. X-Men hardcover edition. Punk owes his comic book obsession to purchasing a G.I. Joe comic book while growing up in Chicago and fell in love with the medium. Fans of Punk were probably already aware of his fondness for G.I. Joe due to his Cobra tattoo on his right shoulder. Punk has even incorporated comic book characters into his ring entrance as, before he would make his way down the ramp, Punk would stop, pretend to check his watch, and then yell the Thing's favorite line "It's clobberin' time!" to the capacity crowd. Punk will also tweet out pictures (or at least, he used to) of the various comic books he was reading and makes it a point to stop at Chicago's Challengers Comics when he is in his hometown.
