10 Live Observations From WWE Las Cruces
2. Orton Comes Out To Bray's Music, Seeds For WrestleMania Planted
Despite Randy Orton's newfound allegiance to Bray Wyatt and the (defunct?) Wyatt Family, when he comes to the ring all by himself, he typically does so to his own theme music. However, at this show, this was not the case.
At this event, even though Orton took on John Cena in the WWE title main event completely on his own, without the company of Bray, he still came to the ring with Wyatt's theme tune playing, fireflies and all. His own theme started then stopped not once but twice before Bray's hit. At first, it seemed as though there were some sort of technical difficulties going on in the back, but it soon became apparent that it was part of the act. Moreover, at no point during the match did Bray show up to interfere.
This comes with some major 'Mania implications. Despite the painfully predictable outcome of Cena defeating Orton in this title match, Randy still won the Royal Rumble. This suggested that Cena was dropping the strap at Elimination Chamber, which proved to be exactly the case. After all, if he was going to hold onto it, why would WWE give the main event of their biggest PPV of the year away on a house show of all things?
Also, this could mean that Bray will betray Orton sometime soon, and not the other way around, as most predicted, especially when you consider that Randy has the definite shot at Bray's title come WrestleMania and Randy has seemingly cemented his loyalty to Bray - hence the music. Not to mention the fact that a Cena/Wyatt feud has been teased in recent weeks, and Cena possibly besting Ric Flair's title record at WrestleMania makes for a great money match. Right now, it seems that a triple threat for 'Mania is in the works.
